    They say we are what we eat, and most of us think that following a Mediterranean diet is healthy.  Now, two new studies carried out in Spain have provided evidence to show that the Mediterranean diet does help to protect you from illness, especially heart and respiratory disease, and that people who follow it live longer.

    The European Genome-Phenome Archive (EGA) opens a branch in Barcelona

    With modern biomedical science producing huge quantities of data there is an urgent need to store them in a safe and organized way.  A new project will help to store these massive amounts of information in Barcelona so they can be used by scientists all over Europe and the rest of the world.  The information obtained from the 50,000 participants of the GCAT project will also be stored here to be available to researchers along with other collections of samples
