Completion of the recruitment phase
This April 2018 we have completed the initial phase ending the recruitment campaign for the GCAT Project | Genomes for Life.
Since its inception in 2014, this unique initiative of collaboration between organizations such as the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and the Blood and Tissue Bank (BST) has represented a great step for the development of genomic research of common diseases and a decisive step for the establishment of personalized medicine in our country.
Currently 20,000 people from 40 to 65 years living in Catalonia have participated in the GCAT Project, and will continue for years to be part of it through their telematic follow-up of health records and through the follow-up rounds (/en_gcat_salut-al-dia/).
From here, we want to thank all the volunteers who have participated in the project. Without you this project would not be possible.
Likewise, we would also like to thank the staff of the Blood and Tissue Bank for their work, both for the professionals who are part of the blood banks of the hospitals that have participated in the project, for the hospitals that have actively transferred its spaces to donate as well as the professionals that are part of the mobile units that have been moving throughout Catalonia. Thanks for the job well done.
We are a great team!
